RESTRUCTURING THE EDUCATION SECTOR IS THE NEED OF THE HOUR



India has been a land of seekers; the seekers of knowledge. This is evident in the teachings and learning recorded in the ancient Indian scriptures. It was this pious land which gave the world the very first global university. The Indian education system has always been based on experiential Learning. India was rightly called the Vishwa Guru. The Indian education system was systematically targeted and dismantled during the colonial era and we lost our way slowly and gradually post-independence.

The journey post-independence was encouraging. The openings of world class institutions viz. IITs, IIMs, ISRO, to name a few, have added laurels to our nation. However, the education ecosystem has taken a serious hit. It has now become increasingly imperative for us to restructure our education sector dynamically and quickly to keep in pace with the ever changing world.

We at BGSVS are putting in a sincere effort in this direction. The education pedagogy revolves around accumulation and application of knowledge, keeping technology at the forefront. Technology in today’s times is changing and this change is not constant. The rate of change is increasing rapidly. Keeping this scenario in mind, 60 percent of the students in schools today, if they ever end up having a job, will work for technology that does not click here exist today. In this scenario, it is difficult for schools to gauge the requirements for the future. This is a global challenge. It is here high time we develop a knowledge structure that enables our students to deal with unknown situations as the future is unpredictable. We need to go beyond textbooks,
we need to go beyond check here our classrooms and we need to do the unthinkable. We need to work on the emotional quotient of our students, we need them to participate in sports and extracurricular activities, we need to give them exposure to STEM, we need them to learn coding. Our state of denial of the role of technology in the education sector is only going to exaggerate the situation at hand. It will not stop technology from flourishing, which is evident in the creation of technology such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google bard.

Coding is the next big thing in the education sector. The integration #Minakshi Khurana Principal of STEM, coding, Artificial Intelligence into our curriculum is inevitable.
